PLEASURE OR SCIENCE ???

Wow! I finally started my blog after a long delay and this is my first post… I am really very excited, but this being my first post, I should start on a safe side. Hmm… Ok, here I go.

I was wondering since a few days, the extent to which actors and actresses in big and small screens fascinate people. It’s not just as we think, but a bit more than that! The other day I got an e-mail highlighting the comments posted under some tv-serial. The people there landed up in a fight among themselves in deciding whether the hero was right or the heroine!! I felt it is really stupid!! It’s ok to be fascinated, but this is much more than that. Everyone of us are definitely influenced by some way or the other, by our favourite actors and actresses. We tend to follow their style. Hair style of Aamir Khan in Ghajini and the hair styles of Tom Cruise are definitely not bad paradigms. We derive a lot of pleasure mimicking them. But……Draw a line somewhere, else you will lose your conscience.  One of the rare movies in tollywood which cracked 5 on 5 rating recently is “Magadheera”. We all admired the brilliant action of Ram Charan Teja in his second film. But, will you beleive if I say that, a guy suicided to check whether there will be another life for him after death as of the character portrayed by Charan???? This is a limit!!!! Oh sorry, he actually crossed the limits far-off……………….

Why is practical sense this low in Indians?? If I start answering this question, this blog will transform into a text book of social issues…. Of course, if we are too practical to accept the effects in the film, there is no “Magadheera”, there is no “Krrish”…We all know that no person will be alive after being hit by a hundred bullets. But, the hero will! And, we accept that! The other day I was watching a Tamil film, which is a blockbuster. The villain leaves a bullet, with some mass and some momentum, which hits the hero and reflects back and kills the villain, just as a ray of light!! OMG, where did the Newton’s laws go?? What about the laws of momentum and all?? Who cares? The climax should show the death of the villain and we are done with it, that’s all! Haha… funny, right? Anyway, if practical sense is one side of a coin, we practically like the other side of the coin. We like heros blowing out  half a hundred rowdies with single hand, we like heros performing dangerous stunts, ignoring the dupes behind the scene!! This is the way we are, genuinely impractical. We should not be very practical, though….If we are, then where should Ram Gopal Varma, with all his ghostly movies, hide his face???

  1. hey ding!..welcome to blogging! hope u update it often unlike me 😀

yeah..u r right girl!..Ppl, need to be more sensible (like u :P) regarding this. This has been happening from the shakitmaan times to the more recent magadheera! The horror movies, though, are at a different level entirely..it is assumed that people would not believe them in the first place..

    Happy Writing, baby!

    Perception of the people.
Coming to movies, writers or directors, they do it all to entertain the audience.
